Grade 12 University Information Assembly

On Wednesday November 23rd, 2011, representatives from Ryerson, U of T, York and UOIT will be visiting Thomson during period four to talk about their admission process, give an overview of their specific programs, requirements, and deadlines, and update students as to any changes or new initiatives that have been developed over the summer. The assembly will be in the form of a panel discussion and will take place in the auditorium.  Each university will make a brief presentation and that will be followed by a question and answer session.  All period 4 Grade 12 classes will be invited to this assembly.  Any Grade 12 student not in a Grade 12 period 4 class who is interested in attending this assembly is asked to come to Student Services to pick up an excusal form.

Thursday, February 1 will be a PA day. Friday, February 2 will follow a special schedule. From 9:00-10:00, students will visit their semester 1 classes to see exams, culminatings, and final marks.


Semester 2 will begin at 10:00 and will follow a late start schedule.

Please note the following exam guidelines:

  1. Students must present their DMT picture ID before each exam.
  2. Students must review the exam schedule carefully. It is every student's responsibility to be aware of their exam date, time, and room number.
  3. Students who are late for an exam are only permitted the time remaining.
  4. Students who miss an exam will receive a mark of "0" unless a medical certificate, clearly indicating the reason for the absence, is received in the office by 12:00 noon the following day.
  5. When dismissed from an exam by the supervising teacher, students must leave the school or report to the library for quiet study. 
  6. Students that have 2 exams on the same date and time, see Mr. English regarding a revised schedule.
  7. Students that have 3 exams on one day, see Mr. English regarding a revised schedule

Come show your Thomson Spirit! DMT's annual Spirit Assembly will be held next Friday, December 22.

Thomson's Performing Arts Department is proud to present our annual holiday music concert on Thursday, December 14 at 7:00 in the Stan Farrow Auditorium. Come out and hear all of your holiday favourites! Admission is free, but donation of a non-perishable food item would be appreciated.

DMT's annual Hour of Code will take place on Thursday, December 7. Come out and show off your coding skills, or try coding for the first time!

Hey Thomson! The Focus on Youth summer job applications are now open. Click here to access the application.

Are you at least 15 years old and looking for a summer job? Summer Employment Opportunities is providing 5000 jobs to high school students during the summer. Come to student services for more information as the application deadline is approaching.

Just a reminder to all students applying to university for September 2018 that the due date for applications is Wednesday, January 17. Please see your counsellor if you require assistance. 

All grade 12 students are asked to participate in the post-secondary information survey to be held on Wednesday, December 6. The purpose of the survey is to get feedback on our post-secondary assemblies. Students will be called down at the beginning of each period by alpha.

Students can now come and pick up their OUAC pins in guidance. Please remember to come before school, after school, or at lunch.
