Attention students, the following new opportunities are now available for anyone that is interested:

Youthlink is looking for Grade 10-12 high school students to join their Students (T.O.P.S) facilitation team as a school ambassador. You will mentor new grade 9 students, lead and facilitate groups, deliver educational modules, take part in community outreach activities and network with other high school students. TTC fare, snacks, a letter of reference are all provided and you can gain up to 72 hours of volunteer experience. The program is every Tuesday and Thursday from 10am-4pm starting on July 9th and ending on August 1st. Please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Topicana is again running its Ontario Youth Opportunities Strategy Jobs for Youth 2013. This is a program designed to help youth in selected priority neighborhoods with preparing for and finding part-time employment. Please see the following attachment for exact contact details. Tropicana.pdf


Future Possibilities for Kids needs volunteer for their Camps running from July 8th – August 16th at different locations in Scarborough and near Jane and Finch. You must commit to a minimum of 1-2 weeks in the summer and attend a mandatory 7.5 hour training session on June 24th. If interested please contact Sarah at 416-923-0777, ext. 221.

Finally, Toronto Intergenerational Partnerships in Community has a number of opportunities on a variety of days and locations to obtain your hours by helping out in different programs assisting the elderly. Please check the board in guidance for exact details.

Mainstage Men Summer Program PDF Print E-mail

Soulpepper is hosting an exciting opportunity for aspiring young male actors on Wednesday July 24 and Thursday July 25.  The program will include acting, writing, improvisation, and stage combat, along with opportunities to see productions of Angels in America Parts 1 & 2.  The program is completely free, and will even include a $20 / day allowance to cover the costs of transportation and food!

How Teens Can Build their Career Pathway to Prosperity PDF Print E-mail

The Association of Career Educators is hosting a workshop on Wednesday, May 22 at Georges Vanier Secondary School entitled "How Teens Can Build their Career Pathway to Prosperity".  The workshop will cover a range of topics from planning high school courses, to post-secondary pathways, to financing your education, and even predictions of the future job market.

"Opening Doors to the Future" Information Session PDF Print E-mail

Agincourt Community Services Association (ACSA) is running an information session on May 25, from 9:30 -12:30 at Centennial College's Progress Campus for parents and students interested in pursuing post-secondary options.  The session will include information on programs and services, the Helping Youth Pursue Education (HYPE) initiative, a student and graduate panel discussion, and a tour of the campus.

More volunteer opportunities for those interested in completing their community service hours: Royal City Soccer Club is hosting their 21st annual Summer Soccer Camps in the Toronto area and is again looking for volunteers, counsellors-in-training and has co-op positions available.  If interested please go to www.royalsoccer.com
